Modern human interface devices such as thin, flat and curved display glasses for cell phones or high-end technical applications as microlens arrays place far higher demands on glass processing than the use of glass in everyday objects as bottles or window sheets. Defect-free production is required to result in absolute shape accuracy and finest surface finishing which are required for correct functioning and a valueable appearance of products. Glass with its unique characteristics hardness, transparency and specular reflection presents optical measuring systems with special challenges while filfilling usablity requirements such as durability and a brilliant appearance. Solarius supplies adequate 3D measurement technology to properly answer these challenges and to provide most accurate and reliable measurement results on glass surfaces.

Glass Bottles

Irregularities in glass blowing lead to weak points in the stability of glass bottles. To prevent destruction during filling, packaging, transport or use, the thickness of the glass is monitored.
