Headquartered in San Jose, California, Solarius has a truly global presence, with technology centers in Shanghai, China, and Essen, Germany. Additionally, through our international partner network, we offer sales and customer support across the Americas, Asia, and Europe—supporting an installed base of over 2,000 active metrology systems worldwide.

Solarius Company History

Solarius Development was founded in 2000 in San Jose, at the heart of California’s Silicon Valley. Specializing in optical metrology equipment, Solarius has grown alongside the rapid evolution of Silicon Valley’s technologies and companies from the early 2000s to today.

To provide effective support for our high-volume optical metrology systems in Asia, Solarius Asia was established in 2013.

In 2017, Solarius GmbH was founded in Essen, Germany. This expansion not only strengthened our sales and service capabilities in the European market but also played a strategic role in advancing R&D within Europe’s highly innovative and technology-driven industries.

In 2023, Solarius Development was acquired by the Marposs Group, a global leader in measurement, inspection, and testing solutions for production environments.

As part of the Marposs Group, Solarius now benefits from a worldwide distribution network and enhanced access to resources and technologies—ensuring increased stability and expanded growth opportunities.
